We would like all pet owners in Crich to be aware that a cat living near Crich Stand has been shot 3 times with air gun pellets.
George went missing last week, but returned last Friday with injuries to his left front leg. The leg was limp due to severe nerve damage.
An xray showed he had 3 air gun pellet wounds - one had broken his left front leg and damaged the nerves. The other pellet was on his side, and there was another one on his back end with no fresh wound ie this had happened at some point in the past. The yellow arrows show two of the air gun pellets, the red arrow shows George's broken leg.
Very sadly the leg had to be amputated because of the nerve damage. The other pellets were also removed.
This is a very cruel case, and has caused poor George and his owner a lot of suffering, all totally unnecessary.
The police are aware, and are making enquiries. If you have any information that could help them track down the cruel heartless person who did this, please contact them immediately.
Meanwhile we wish George a speedy recovery, and send our thoughts and support to his owner.
