The skills in our profession can be such a joy to see. Our colleagues at Highcroft Rabbit, Small Mammal and Exotic vets in Bristol recently operated on a Molly fish who weighed 1g! They successfully removed a tumour on her tummy.
They anaesthetised her by putting her in a solution of anaesthetic in water, then catheterised her mouth and kept her asleep by syringing different concentrations of anaesthetic fluid over her gills.
After the operation, they put her into dechlorinated water at the right temperature, so that the anaesthetic wore off.
Amazing, congratulations to the incredible vets at Highcroft for doing this awe inspiring operation!
