Please keep an eye out for baby and juvenile hedgehogs. If they are too small they won't survive hibernation and will need to be looked after over the winter. It's estimated that a hedgehog needs to weigh 500-600g to hibernate.
This little hedgehog was brought in to us recently, weighing only 107g. Ruth, one of our nursing team, looked after him overnight, then took him to a specialist hedgehog centre in Derby for them to look after.
